What is involved?
Each qualification is made up of a number of relevant units. Each unit has a corresponding credit value and a number of guided learning hours required.

Award Level – Learners need to complete any combination of units between 5 and 7 credits to achieve the qualification. Range of guided learning hours from 15 to 40 hours.

Certificate Level – Learners need to complete any combination of units between 13 and 15 credits to achieve the qualification. Range of guided learning hours from 50 to 70 hours.

On completion of the guided learning hours, delegates are asked to produce an assignment based on the units they have studied. This is submitted to, and externally assessed by, the Chartered Management Institute (CMI). Further details on request or by following the link to the CMI website.

Qualifications Summary

LEVEL 2 IN TEAM LEADING

The Level 2 qualification in Team Leading offers a highly flexible approach to learning. Designed for practicing or aspiring team leaders who wish to develop their team leading skills and knowledge. The ideal starting point for your career journey.

LEVEL 3 IN FIRST LINE MANAGEMENT

These qualifications are aimed at practicing or aspiring managers who supervise or manage a team, or project officer and shift manager to achieve clearly defined outcomes. They will set and monitor goals and objectives by providing instruction, direction and guidance. Day to day operational and project activities are a key part of their role.

LEVEL 4 IN MANAGEMENT AND LEADERSHIP

This qualification, designed for practicing or aspiring middle managers, helps to grow professional management skills including decision-making, managing team dynamics and delegation capability.

LEVEL 5 IN MANAGEMENT AND LEADERSHIP

These qualifications are designed for practicing middle managers and leaders at operations, division, departmental or specialist level, who are typically accountable to a senior manager or business owner. The primary role of a practicing or aspiring manager and leader is to lead and manage individuals and teams to deliver the aims and objectives in line with the organisational strategy.

LEVEL 6 IN MANAGEMENT AND LEADERSHIP

These qualifications are designed for individuals wishing to develop professional management and leadership practice who will have the knowledge, skills and behaviours to drive business activities in a senior, regional specialist or director level management and leadership role.

LEVEL 7 IN STRATEGIC MANAGEMENT AND LEADERSHIP

These qualifications are designed for individuals wishing to develop strategic management and leadership practice who will have the knowledge, skills and behaviours to drive business activities in a senior, regional, specialist, director or CEO management and leadership role.

The qualification contains a breadth of units, which are reflective of the tasks and activities required by managers in roles such as senior managers, regional management and specialist managers who are accountable to a senior manager or business owner.

LEVEL 3 IN COACHING AND MENTORING

The Level 3 Qualification in Coaching and Mentoring is designed for supervisors and first-line managers, to support the development of coaching and mentoring skills and techniques of individuals and teams, alongside working to achieve organisational objectives.

LEVEL 5 IN COACHING AND MENTORING

The Level 5 qualifications in Management Coaching and Mentoring are designed for practising middle managers and those aspiring to senior management to develop management coaching and mentoring skills, helping you to identify the links between management coaching, mentoring and achieving business goals.

LEVEL 7 IN COACHING AND MENTORING

These qualifications are designed for managers and leaders who have the authority and responsibility for developing and implementing a coaching and mentoring strategy across the organisation. The qualifications require managers and leaders to build on their strategic management and leadership skills and to focus on the requirements of embedding these skills into an organisation’s strategy.

Progressions

The qualifications provide opportunities for progression to other qualifications at the same or higher levels, which could also be work-based or more academically structured. The qualifications also support learners in meeting the requirements for work and/or employment within all areas of management and leadership at this level.
